Neal Cobb is a passionate historian and honorary curator for the Nevada Historical Society. He loves all things Nevada. Join Neal Cobb and our monthly speakers as we explore interesting topics and join in the audience conversations.

Summary of Program: Reno Rodeo Mural Video and Historic Reno Rodeo talk by Neal Cobb. Artist and brothers, Erik and Mikey Burke were commissioned by the Reno Rodeo to paint 1,800-foot mural timelines the history of the Reno Rodeo. The mural surrounds the Reno Livestock fairgrounds to commemorate the 100 years of the Reno Rodeo Association. Afterwards, Neal will share some wonderful stories while showcasing historic Rodeo photographs from his collection.

May speaker: Neal Cobb

Speaker Bio: Neal Cobb is a Reno native, and was involved in his family’s business, Modern Photo. Neal fell heir to fourteen large boxes of old Reno and Northern Nevada photos and printable film after his parents died in the 1980’s and subsequently authored two books, Reno Now and Then, Books I and II. He has worked closely representing the Nevada Historical Society, having presented over 500 programs in Reno, Sparks and Northern Nevada since 1988.
