Hans Meyer-Kassel 1872-1952
Born Hans Meyer, the earliest known use of his surname with the hyphenated Kassel, for the German town of his birth, is 1893.
Hans and Maria Meyer-Kassel settled in Genoa, Nevada in 1945 by way of Germany, New York, Reno, and Carson City. An internationally renowned artist, Meyer-Kassel’s love of Nevada, its landscapes, and people is evident in this selection of pieces from H. William Brooks’ Collection.
These images span Meyer-Kassel’s career and represent several different artistic genres and styles.
